To augment a speech given by the company's owner at
a local rotary club meeting, the owner distributed
hats imprinted with "I love livin' in
Zanesville (Ohio)." Costs of the hats were
covered by donations from area businesses. This idea
led to the distribution of 800 more hats, 1,200 each
of buttons and bumper stickers and 500 T- and
sweatshirts, all bearing the same copy. The
visibility of the items led to them being seen on
television and other media and being bought by the
town chamber of commerce to sell as fundraisers. The
promotion created an overall increase in community
pride. A song was recorded about the town following
the promotion. |
